BTER's high-pressure bidirectional axial flow control valve has been included in the National Energy Administration's list of first-of-a-kind major technical equipment in the energy sector.

On 7 January, the National Energy Administration announced the fourth batch of major first-of-a-kind technical equipment in the energy sector under its 2025 No. 1 Notice. The high-pressure bidirectional axial flow control valve independently developed by BTER, a subsidiary of BEST, was successfully included in the list.

Major technical equipment constitutes the nation's vital assets, bearing upon both comprehensive national strength and national security. The term ‘first-of-a-kind major technical equipment’ refers to domestically developed products representing significant technological breakthroughs, possessing independent intellectual property rights, yet lacking demonstrable market performance. This encompasses complete machinery, core systems, and critical components.

The BTER high-pressure bidirectional axial flow pressure regulating valves selected for inclusion in the Catalogue have been deployed in batches for the Phase II project of the Wen23 Gas Storage Facility under the National Pipeline Network Group. This includes: one DN400 15MPa valve, one DN500 15MPa valve, and two DN700 15MPa valves. This marks a breakthrough in expanding the application scenarios of axial flow regulating valves from pipeline distribution and interconnection to underground gas storage facilities; This represents a breakthrough in pressure rating from 15MPa to 42MPa, an expansion of the 15MPa product range from DN600 to DN700, and a transition from unidirectional to bidirectional flow capability for axial flow control valves.

This recognition as the first major technological equipment in the energy sector by the National Energy Administration serves as an affirmation and encouragement for the company's R&D team and innovation strategy. It will undoubtedly spur the company to further increase its investment in research and development, introducing more products that meet national and market demands, thereby contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
