February

In February 2025, the publication entitled Key Valve Design Selection and Application Technology for Natural Gas Pressure Regulation Units, co-authored by the company and technical personnel from the West-East Gas Pipeline Project, was printed and published by China Machine Press. This volume serves as a comprehensive summary of the research, design, manufacturing, and application aspects of the key valve development for pressure regulation units under CNPC's major scientific and technological initiative ‘Domestic Production of Key Equipment for Oil and Gas Pipelines’.

On 21 July 2025, Comrade Huang Jianmin, Chairman and President of the company, was awarded the 2024 State Council Special Allowance Certificate in the field of engineering technology by the Wuqing District Committee of Tianjin Municipality. This honour represents recognition of the company's longstanding achievements in technological innovation within the energy equipment manufacturing sector and serves as a significant incentive for all technical personnel within the organisation.

On 21 July 2025, BTER Valve Company successfully obtained the China Electromechanical Equipment (Industrial Valves Category) Remanufacturing Enterprise Capability Certificate. This achievement lays a solid foundation for expanding the company's valve remanufacturing operations and presents new opportunities for its development.

To review and summarise the safety and quality work of 2023, and to scientifically plan and systematically implement the work programme for 2024, BEST Energy Equipment (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. solemnly convened its Twelfth Safety and Quality Conference on 29 January. Over 500 executives and employees from Bosite, Betel, and Dongfang Huazhi attended the meeting.

On 26 June 2024, two DN800 CL600 large-bore axial flow control valves developed by BTER for the Shenyang branch station of the National Pipeline Network Group's National Natural Gas High-Flow Metering Station successfully passed the on-site industrial trial acceptance organised jointly by the National Pipeline Network Group's Construction Project Management Company and the China Machinery Industry Federation.

The mechanical industry standard JB/T 145845-2024 ‘Pressure Regulating Valves for Gas Pressure Regulating Devices’, edited by BTER Company, came into effect on 1 October 2024, filling a gap in domestic mechanical industry standards for this product category.

BTER's data management capability maturity has reached Level 2 of the Managed stage.

On 22 November, the high-pressure bidirectional axial flow regulating valves supplied by BTER for the second phase of the National Pipeline Network Group's Wen 23 Gas Storage Facility were successfully included in the National Energy Administration's fourth batch of the Catalogue of First-of-a-Kind Major Technical Equipment in the Energy Sector.

On 26 November, China National Petroleum Corporation's first offshore gas storage facility – the Nanbao No. 1 Storage Facility at the Jidong Oilfield – commenced operations. As the core equipment supplier for this project, BTER provided large-bore high-pressure axial flow control valves.

December

On 2 December 2024, the China-Russia Eastern Route pipeline achieved full operational connectivity. BEST, in collaboration with BTER, contributed over 300 sets of various skid-mounted equipment and nearly 500 critical valves for pressure regulation units, thereby enabling the complete domestic production of all key equipment for the China-Russia Eastern Route project.

On 31 December 2024, four new products developed by the company—the NPS3 10,000psi high-pressure anti-clogging angle control valve, NPS16 Class 900 emergency shut-off ball valve, NPS24 Class 900 large-bore forced-seal ball valve, and NPS28 Class 900 large-bore top-mounted ball valve—successfully passed scientific and technological achievement appraisal organised by the China Machinery Industry Federation. The appraisal concluded that all four new products possess independent intellectual property rights, with their primary technical parameters and performance metrics attaining the advanced level of comparable international products. Furthermore, the high-pressure anti-clogging angle control valve fills a domestic technological gap.

2023

March

BTER has been awarded AAA credit rating status.

July

On 29 July 2023, the Phase II project of the West-East Gas Pipeline Wen23 Storage Facility under the National Pipeline Network Group commenced gas injection operations. Four DN100 CL2500 axial flow control valves manufactured by BTER were successfully commissioned, achieving a breakthrough in higher-pressure applications up to 42 MPa and underground gas storage facilities. This development fills a domestic technological gap in this field.

The national standard GB/T 26481-2022 ‘Leakage Testing for Industrial Valves’, co-developed by BTER Company, came into effect on 1 July 2023.

December

On 1 December 2023, the nation's first skid-mounted triethylene glycol dehydration unit with a daily processing capacity of 10 million cubic metres, designed and manufactured by the company, was successfully commissioned at the Phase II project of the Wen23 Gas Storage Facility under the National Pipeline Network Group. Concurrently put into operation were 14 DN100-CL2500 and 2 DN700-CL900 high-pressure bidirectional axial flow control valves produced by Betel.

The national standard GB/T 12230-2023 ‘General Valves - Technical Requirements for Stainless Steel’, co-drafted by BTER Company, came into effect on 1 December 2023.

In July 2022, the company's axial flow control valve was awarded the ‘National Champion in Single Product Manufacturing’ certificate by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In October 2022, the project ‘Key Valves for Large-Diameter Pressure-Regulating Units in Natural Gas Long-Distance Pipelines’, jointly completed by BEST and BTER with the National Pipeline Network Group's West-East Gas Pipeline, Northern Pipeline, the Research Institute, and Tianjin University, was awarded the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in China's Machinery Industry.

The mechanical industry standard JB/T 13885-2020 ‘Safety Cut-off Valves for Gas Pressure Regulating Devices’, jointly edited by BTER Company and BEST Company, came into effect on 1 January 2021, filling a gap in domestic mechanical industry standards for this product category.

On 17 January, BEST convened its Ninth Safety and Quality Conference. The meeting reviewed and disseminated the 2021 safety and quality work summary, analysed existing issues and the prevailing situation, while simultaneously arranging and deploying key safety and quality tasks for 2022. Conducted both online and offline, the conference was attended by over 500 executives and employees from BEST, BTER, and Dongfang Huazhi.

In November 2021, BTER Company successfully passed the factory acceptance and new product certification for large-diameter (DN800CL600) axial flow control valves intended for the Shenyang branch station of the National High-Flow Natural Gas Metering Station. This certification was jointly conducted by the China Machinery Industry Federation, the China Communications Construction Association, and the Construction Project Management Company of the National Pipeline Network Group.

On 24 December 2021, the DN300 CL600 pressure regulating unit and axial flow control valve for the pure hydrogen pipeline interconnection project at the Zhoushan-Ningbo Petrochemical Base – part of Zhejiang Petrochemical's 40 million tonne annual integrated refining and petrochemicals project – were successfully dispatched from the factory. The pressure regulating unit was supplied by BEST, the axial flow control valve by BTER, and engineering design services were provided by Dongfang Huazhi.

On 12 July, at China's largest natural gas hub – the Zhongwei Compressor Station of the West-East Gas Pipeline – BTER's DN400 Class 900 cylinder-operated safety shut-off valves and electric axial flow control valves successfully passed on-site industrial acceptance testing organised by China Oil Pipeline Co., Ltd. and the China Machinery Industry Federation.

December

On 3 December, the northern section of the China-Russia Eastern Route pipeline commenced operations. BTER's DN600-Class900 cylinder-type axial flow safety shut-off valves, electric axial flow control valves, compressor station internal circulation valves, and key valves for pressure regulation units below DN400-Class900 in the distribution system were successfully deployed along the pipeline.

The company's large-diameter pressure regulating unit key valves (DN600 CL900) and compressor anti-surge valves have successfully passed national-level new product appraisal, filling a domestic technological gap. Their primary technical parameters and performance indicators now meet the advanced standards of comparable international products.

2017

January to December

Developed and manufactured by BTER, China's highest pressure-rated and largest-bore control valves and self-operated safety shut-off valves have been successfully deployed on the Shaanxi-Beijing IV gas transmission pipeline (DN400-Class 900 electric control valves and DN200-Class 900 safety shut-off valves). Baodi-Xianghe-Xiji Gas Pipeline Xiji Station (DN400-Class600 safety shut-off valves and DN400-Class600 electric control valves), and Zhongxian First Station on the Zhongwu Pipeline (DN400-Class600 electric control valves). These installations have filled domestic technological gaps and advanced the localisation of energy equipment.

September to December

The company's pressure-regulating metering cabinets and self-closing valves have been extensively deployed in projects including Huagang Group's rural household connections in Renqiu, coal-to-gas conversions in Hejian and Suning, Kunlun Gas's operations in Funing, Qinhuangdao, and MingShun Gas. This has resulted in a significant increase in production capacity.

2016

March

BTER has been granted two invention patents by the State Intellectual Property Office: the ‘Natural Gas Swing-Type Axial Flow Safety Shut-off Valve’ and the ‘Integrated Safety Shut-off Valve Controller Combining Overpressure, Underpressure, Manual and Remote Control Functions’. These two patents enhance the functionality of safety shut-off valves – critical equipment in natural gas pipeline transmission – while significantly improving their safety factor.

The ‘Key Valves for Domestic Pressure Regulation Equipment in Oil and Gas Pipelines’, jointly developed by BTER and CNPC West-East Gas Pipeline Company, has successfully passed the on-site acceptance inspection of the industrial trial organised by the China Machinery Industry Federation at the Luoyang Transfer Station, in accordance with the requirements of the industrial trial outline.

BTER's independently developed, designed and manufactured shut-off valves, pressure-reducing valves and control valves have obtained German DVGW certification and EU CE certification.

September

The company has secured the contract for six sets of DN400 CL600 pressure control systems for the Baodi-Xianghe-Xiji branch line of the Shaanxi-Beijing Pipeline Phase IV project. All systems utilise BTER's domestically manufactured valve products, representing the largest-diameter shut-off valves and regulating valves deployed to date in domestic long-distance pipeline metering stations.

2015

February

On 6 February, the key valves for pressure regulating units (DN300 diameter, CLASS900 pressure rating) developed by BTER Company under CNPC's major scientific research project ‘Domestic Production of Key Equipment for Oil and Gas Pipelines – Key Valves for Pressure Regulating Units’ were successfully commissioned at the Huangpi Interconnection Compressor Station on the West-East Gas Pipeline Phase II.

September

On 16 September, the Shihezi Gas Supply Project of the West-East Gas Pipeline Phase III, with a daily capacity of one million cubic metres, commenced operations successfully, formally supplying gas to the Shihezi gate station. This project was invested in by Xinjiang Tianfu Tianyuan Gas Co., Ltd., with the EPC engineering general contracting undertaken by the Xinjiang Design Institute of China Petroleum Engineering Design Company. The critical valves for the pressure regulation unit were supplied by BTER Company.

On 8 December, the Wuqing District People's Government convened the ‘2013-2014 Tianjin Wuqing District Science and Technology Progress Awards Conference’. BEST Company's project ‘Natural Gas Station Self-Use Gas Metering and Pressure Regulation Skid’ was awarded the First Prize in the Development Category of the Science and Technology Progress Awards. BTER Company's project ‘Independent R&D, Self-Conversion and Promotion of a Self-Actuated Axial Flow Pressure Regulating Valve with Full Opening upon Fault Occurrence’ received the Second Prize in the Development Category of the Science and Technology Progress Awards.

In the presence of representatives from the National Development and Reform Commission's Energy Bureau, the China Machinery Industry Federation, and the China National Petroleum Corporation, BTER signed a joint development agreement with the West-East Gas Pipeline Branch of PetroChina for the domestic production of critical valves for pressure regulating units—key equipment for oil and gas pipelines.
